What are the spare parts required for a semi-automatic spring brush machine for tandem motor motors and how should I set up a guaranteed stock?

I. Spare parts needed

l Brushes: Brushes are the key parts of series motor, which are in contact with commutator in the process of motor operation, and will be worn due to constant friction. Wear to a certain extent need to be replaced in time, otherwise it will affect the performance of the motor, or even damage the motor.

l Commutator: Although the commutator is relatively durable, it may be abraded and worn out in the case of excessive brush sparks and motor overload. Once serious damage is found on the surface of the commutator, it needs to be replaced.

l Bearings: The rotating parts of motors and brush machines rely on bearings to support and minimize friction. With increased use, bearings may wear out, show fatigue spalling, etc., so spare bearings are necessary.

l Springs: In spring-loaded brush machines, springs are used to provide the elastic force required by the brush machine. Due to long term expansion and contraction movements, springs may lose their elasticity, break, etc., so it is necessary to stock a certain number of spare springs.

l Belt and chain (if any): For brush machines that are driven by belts or chains, these parts may wear out, elongate or break due to prolonged use. Keep a suitable type of belt and chain as spares.

l Screws, nuts and washers of various specifications: During the operation of the equipment, the screws may loosen or be lost, or need to be replaced because of dismantling for maintenance, so stock up on screws, nuts and washers of different specifications.

l Electrical components: such as fuses, contactors, relays, sensors and so on. Fuses will blow when the circuit is overloaded, playing a protective role, and need to be replaced in time; contactors and relays and other control components may be damaged due to frequent action; sensors may also fail, affecting the normal operation of the equipment.

l Grease and lubricant: used for the lubrication of motor bearings, brush drive parts, etc., to ensure the smooth operation of the equipment.

Second, the method of setting up the protection stock

1、Based on the frequency of equipment use and failure rate statistics

Record the equipment in a certain period of time (such as a year) the frequency of replacement of various components, as a basis for determining the number of spare parts. For example, if brushes need to be replaced every three months on average, then the guaranteed inventory can be set to meet at least the number of quarterly use, plus a certain margin (such as 20%), in order to cope with emergencies or increased frequency of replacement.

2. Consider the procurement cycle

Understand the procurement cycle of each spare part, including the supplier's production cycle, transportation time and so on. For parts with a long procurement cycle, it is necessary to appropriately increase the guaranteed inventory. For example, a special model of the sensor from the order to the arrival of three months, then the guarantee stock should be able to ensure that the number of normal maintenance of the equipment required in these three months.

3, in accordance with the importance of equipment and the degree of impact of failure

For those who are critical to the operation of the equipment, once the damage will lead to equipment downtime for a long time parts (such as the key electrical components of the motor), to set a higher level of security inventory. For some of the smaller impact on the operation of the equipment components (such as screws on the shell), you can set up a relatively low security inventory.

4, combined with the cost and capital utilization

Under the premise of ensuring normal maintenance of equipment, to consider the cost of spare parts and capital consumption. For expensive parts, can be negotiated with the supplier in the case of emergency supply, the appropriate reduction of guaranteed inventory, but to ensure that it can be obtained in a timely manner in case of emergency. At the same time, for some inexpensive but easily damaged parts (such as washers), you can appropriately increase the guaranteed inventory to reduce the workload of frequent procurement.

5, regular assessment and adjustment

Safeguard inventory is not static, the need for regular (such as every six months or a year) inventory and assessment of inventory. According to the updating of equipment, changes in the replacement frequency of components, changes in suppliers and other factors, timely adjustment of the quantity and type of safeguarded inventory. For example, if equipment undergoes technological upgrades and certain parts are no longer in use, the inventory of these parts can be reduced; if the failure rate of a part is found to increase, its safeguarded inventory needs to be increased accordingly.
